Ira Berkow

Ira Berkow has been a sports columnist and feature writer for The New York Times for 26 years. He shared a Pulitzer Prize for his feature story, The Minority Quarterback, in the series How Race is Lived in America. He was also a Pulitzer finalist for commentary. He is the author of 17 books, the most recent being a memoir, Full Swing: Hits, Runs and Errors in a Writer's Life. His biography of Red Smith, Red, which was a national best seller will be reissued this fall by Bison Books.
