Anatomy of Baseball Launch

American Shorts—Carnegie Library Lecture Hall, Pittsburgh

 

Stefan Fatsis (Word Freak) comes to Pittsburgh to read from his essay about his "stunningly perfect, consummately perfect, why-would-anyone-use-anything-else? perfect" glove and talk about immersion writing. Pittsburgh Pirates play-by-play announcer Lanny Frattare will also read from the collection. This program, hosted in conjunction with the American Shorts Reading Series, will also include banjo baseball music, a book signing, and a screening of "Kings of the Hill," University of Pittsburgh history professor Robert Ruck's documentary about the Negro Leagues.
