Introducing our new monthly magazine—TRUE STORY!
True Story: a new home for longform nonfiction narratives.
Published monthly by the editors of Creative Nonfiction, each pocket-size issue of True Story showcases one exceptional essay by one exceptional writer. From issue to issue, this new mini-magazine features the widest possible variety of voices and styles and subjects.
Offering vivid, immersive reports from real life, every issue is a small celebration of the larger-than-life stories and experiences that make us think differently about what it means to be human.
The first issue, “Fruitland” by Steven Kurutz, is printing now. You can read the beginning of this fantastic story here, and subscribe before October 12 to be among the first to receive the new magazine in the mail.
If you’re near Pittsburgh, join us for the Three Cheers Bash on October 16 to be among the very first to get a copy!
And, if you have a longform piece you think would make a good issue of True Story, we’re accepting submissions here.
True Story is designed by Pittsburgh artist Seth Clark and funded in part by an Art Works award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
