THE BEST GIFT A CITY COULD ASK FOR

As mentioned in last month's newsletter, this fall marks the 250th anniversary of Pittsburgh--a city that has been home to CNF since our inception.

So, in honor of our hometown's big 250, we've compiled some of the best nonfiction writing about the city.

We've got older essays and new essays, we've got essays written by well-known writers (Annie Dillard and Stuart O'Nan, to name a few) and not-so-known writers, and we've got seven brand spanking new essays. The best part: we're in the process of posting them all online at the Pittsburgh in Words website.

On top of that, we're hosting a Pittsburgh in Words reading and book launch during the 2008 Creative Nonfiction Writers' Conference (more on that above).
