George Drinka

George Drinka, MD, practices child and adolescent psychiatry in Portland, Oregon. After attending the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and a graduate program in modern history at Oxford, he completed his residency in psychiatry at Yale and his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Boston Children’s Hospital, a Harvard-affiliated facility. He became interested in the subject of children and the media in the 1990s, as his young patients frequently referenced media creations in therapy sessions. The author of The Birth of Neurosis, he has written numerous case studies and published many articles on these patients and their media fascinations.
