Omari C. Daniel and Jack L. Daniel

Jack L. Daniel is Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Professor of Communication at the University of Pittsburgh. He conducts research and teaches courses related to African American Rhetoric and African Americans and the Mass Media. His current creative-writing project is a book-length manuscript based on this essay, “We Fish.”

Omari Colley Daniel recieved his BA from the University of Pittsburgh and his MFA (poetry) and his MAT (secondary English education) from the University of Maryland. He is a member of the Cave Canem Literary Community, and is currently teaching English at Springbrook High School in Silver Spring, Md. He is also working on a book of poetry, which will follow the “We Fish” manuscript.
