Peggy Sarjeant

Peggy lives in Seattle, Washington with her husband, two teenagers, two 110-pound Bernese Mountain Dogs and a cat that rules the world. Her short fiction has appeared in the Portland Review and in Cutthroat, A Journal of the Arts. One of her stories was awarded third prize by the Pacific Northwest Writers' Association in their 2008 Short Fiction Contest, and another was the recipient of the 2008 Albert and Elaine Borchard Fellowship for Fiction at the Tomales Bay Writers' Workshops. She recently completed her first collection of short fiction. Peggy practiced General Pediatrics for eighteen years. She dedicates this essay to Marilyn Guthrie.
