Whether you’re presenting an essay, a poem or a Powerpoint presentation, your delivery matters. 

Join actor and nonfiction writer Elena Passarello for two hours of tips, tricks, and on-site practice for engaging your audience. We’ll tackle everything from combating nervousness to projection and voice work, and you’ll learn how to “score” your piece so that the words are clear and focused. Come to this workshop ready to read, move, and celebrate the fine art of literary performance!

Elena Passarello holds a BA from the University of PIttsburgh and an MFA from the University of Iowa. Her essays have appeared in Oxford American, Creative Nonfiction, Gulf Coast, Slate, and Normal School. Passarello worked for a decade as an actor and voice-over performer and was the first woman to win the Stella Scream Contest in New Orleans. Her first book, Let Me Clear My Throat, was a finalist for the Oregon Book Award, and Animals Strike Curious Poses was published by Sarabande Books this year.
